My Windows 8 OS no longer 'sees' Adobe Flash Player.
I have followed all the troubleshooting steps described online however my specific problem is not addressed. Here are the facts:
- Shockwave Flash Object is listed in the Manage Add-ons window BUT it is listed under the "Not Available" section.
- The Publisher is listed as "Not Available"
- The Status is "Enabled."
- Active X Filtering is NOT activated in the Safety drop-down box
- I can see the Shockwave files in C:/Windows/System 32/Macromed/Flash
- I downloaded the uninstall program from Adobe, followed directions. It reported that the uninstall was successful.
- I restarted the computer
- However, the program files are still there. All the same problems are persist.
From the Adobe helpx site:
- When I test the Flash Player it responds:
- Products Affected: Flash Player 11
- "Either Flash Player is disabled or Active X Filter is ON." (From the above, you know that neither of those statements is true.)
Apparently the problem is that Windows 8 is not recognizing the Publisher and lists the object as unavailable. How to I get it back to being available or uninstall it so that I can reinstall.
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
