Normal player = OpenGL but flashplayer debug = software mode

Hi,

I've got the latest version of Chrome, which comes with Flash player 11.8.800.97
And I've installed the latest Flash debug version for 'netscape-compatible browsers' (11,8,800,94)

When I activate the normal flashplayer that comes with chrome context3D.driverInfo returns "OpenGL"

When I activate the debug flashplayer context3D.driverInfo returns "Software Hw_disabled=oldDriver"

Now how can I develop and debug 3D Flash like that?

I'm running Windows 8 on a Samsung Ativ Book 8 (NP880Z5E) that comes with an internal Intel HD 4000 and a discrete Radeon 8870 GPU. AMD's switchable graphics settings are on high performance, and chrome://gpu shows

  • Flash 3D: Hardware accelerated
  • Flash Stage3D: Hardware accelerated
  • Flash Stage3D Baseline profile: Hardware accelerated

and since it works fine with the normal player, this really looks like an issue with the debug player to me?
